Glossary/Effective fee

Effective fee

The real, all-in percentage cost of buying crypto after spread, headline trading fee, and payment surcharges are included.

Headline trading fees on exchange fee pages usually show only the maker or taker fee. The effective fee is what a retail buyer actually pays: the quoted price gap from mid-market (spread), plus the displayed trading fee, plus any card or bank payment surcharge, plus any FX markup on the fiat side. Augea captures all of these components per snapshot so the total cost estimate reflects the real number a user would see at checkout.
